July 28, 2014Nowadays, we have a variety of options to choose from when it comes to technology, especially computers. In most cases, we’re either labeled as a PC or Mac person, or stuck in the middle and like to use both! With the wireless scanning feature on the ScanSnap iX500 document scanner, you are able to switch your computer preference when choosing the option to scan wirelessly. Provided below are steps on how to switch computers when scanning wirelessly (Mac to PC and back again).
Switching to Mac for scanning wirelessly:
1. Ensure that your ScanSnap iX500 is connected via USB to the computer.
2. Go to the “ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool” – In order to get to the “ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool,” hold down “Command” + click on the ScanSnap Manager icon, the blue ‘S’ icon located on your dock.

6. It will then confirm that the computer has been configured for Wi-Fi.
7. You are now able to unplug the USB cord, and the ScanSnap Manager Icon will be lit up along with the Wi-Fi signal.
